Make a 30–60 second ad
Create an original ad for the GigMedia platform. Your brief: answer one question — why should India's media professionals be on GigMedia? Any format, any style, any language.
03 — WHEN
Submissions close on 9 May 2026.
Results will be announced live on GigMedia's Instagram after the submission window closes. No extensions, no exceptions.

How to participate

Available on Android and iOS. Download from the App Store or Google Play. Sign up is free, takes under 5 minutes, and your profile is your entry credential. No profile — no entry. This is the only gate.

Get your unique GigMedia Creator ID
Every registered user gets a unique creator ID - e.g. GM-2025-04821. This is your competition identity. It goes in every submission and every post you share publicly. It is both a functional gate and a public signal that you are in.

Post your entry on Instagram Reels using #GigMediaSpotlight and tag @GigMediaApp. Include your creator ID in the caption. GigMedia will repost the strongest 3 entries every day during the submission window. The more it travels, the more it counts.

Live Action Video
Shot on anything — a phone, a DSLR, a cinema camera, or a webcam. Judged on storytelling and craft relative to your tools, not on equipment budget. A phone-shot ad with a brilliant idea beats an expensive production with a weak concept every time.
Any camera
AI-Generated Video
Midjourney, Runway ML, Sora, Kling, Pika, or any AI video tool. Pure AI pipelines are fully valid entries. The prompt is the craft — show us what AI can do in the hands of a genuinely creative person. India's AI creators have a dedicated prize category.

Animation
2D, 3D, frame-by-frame, stop motion, whiteboard, character animation, or anything in between. Rendered in Blender, After Effects, Toon Boom, or even a flipbook. If it moves and it's drawn, it counts.

Motion Graphics
Typography in motion, kinetic text, graphic design that moves, infographic storytelling, data visualisation as narrative. If your primary language is Adobe After Effects or Motion, this format is your strongest ground.

Hand-drawn illustration animated or presented as a slideshow, comic panel storytelling, poster design brought to video, or pure graphic design with voiceover. If you draw, paint, or design — this is your category.

Live action + AI. Animation + typography. Photography + voiceover. Found footage + original narration. If it doesn't fit neatly in one category, it belongs here. The most unexpected entries often win. Experiments are welcome.

Competition rules

KNOW THE RULES.

Duration: 30 to 60 seconds
No shorter, no longer. Entries under 30 seconds or over 60 seconds will be disqualified. The constraint is intentional — great ads are made in the edit.
GigMedia must be named or shown
Your ad must include the GigMedia name, logo, or app name somewhere in the video. There is no minimum screen time — one frame is enough. It cannot be invisible.
One entry per creator ID
Each GigMedia account may submit one entry. Multiple accounts to submit multiple entries will result in disqualification of all submissions from that individual.
Original work only
All content must be created by the entrant. No plagiarised footage, no unlicensed stock, no copyrighted music without a valid licence. AI-generated content is fully accepted but the prompt and creative direction must be your own.
Any Indian language is valid
Hindi, English, Hinglish, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi — any Indian language is accepted. Multilingual entries are valid. Subtitles are not required but are encouraged for wider reach.
Submission deadline is final
The submission window closes at 11:59 PM on 9 May. No extensions, no exceptions. Late entries submitted after this time will not be reviewed.
GigMedia has rights to feature your entry
By submitting, you grant GigMedia the right to feature your entry on its social channels and website with full attribution. You retain all ownership of your work. The grand prize winner grants additional rights for use in the paid ad campaign.
The decision of the judges is final
Three judges evaluate entries against the published criteria. The judging panel includes a GigMedia creative lead, an independent filmmaker or creative director, and a representative from one of GigMedia's OTT partners.
How entries are judged

THE CRITERIA.

100 points total. Every format is judged on the same criteria — but execution is assessed relative to the format chosen. A phone-shot film is not compared to a studio production.

Creativity
Is the concept original? Does it stop the scroll? Does it find an unexpected angle or use the format in a way no one has tried before? The most important single criterion.

Clarity
Does a viewer who has never heard of GigMedia understand what it is and why they should care — after watching once? Brilliant creativity with zero clarity does not win.

Emotional impact
Does it make you feel something — excited, inspired, proud, curious? Ads that land emotionally get shared. Ads that are only clever get appreciated and forgotten.

Production craft
Relative to format. An AI entry is judged on AI craft. A live action entry on cinematography and editing. The question is not "was it expensive?" — it is "was it intentional?"
